Lousy San Francisco WAlking Tour Policies
What you can expect
The Lousy Walking Tour is an entertaining walking tour that incorporates points of interest for history, architecture, environment, and culture in a fun and humorous way. Nothing is taken too seriously, and SK often makes guests his playful victims. That being said, we strive to always be considerate of fellow guests as well as the general public. Since we will be visiting establishments that require a certain level of decorum, we kindly request that each guest follow the instructions provided by SK and/or others in a position of guidance. SK Morton Creative reserves the right to dismiss, without refund, any attendees who are disruptive.
If you haven't heard it before, let us be the first in a long line: San Francisco has many microclimates, and temperatures tend to vary significantly along the tour. Layered clothing is recommended, as well as comfortable walking shoes.
Each adult guest will receive a souvenir gift, a map, and a bottle of water. Youths will receive a map and water. (In some cases, a gift certificate will be given in place of a gift.)
Booking online vs. walking up
While all three legs of the Lousy Walking Tour allow for walk-ups, it is highly recommended that you reserve your spot in advance, as tours often sell out and a place on the tour is not guaranteed otherwise.
Ways to pay
To pay in person, SK accepts cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. To pay online, you may use PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
Adding legs
Additional legs can be added to the Lousy Downtown (Leg 1) and Lousy Chinatown (Leg 2) tours in person and while booking with Peek.
You may add either Leg 2 or Leg 3 to the Lousy Downtown Tour. Please note: the tour legs run consecutively, so only Leg 3 may be added to the Lousy Chinatown Tour, and no legs can be added to the Lousy Yerba Buena Tour.
You may add a leg in person at any time along the tour before the start of each leg as long as the tour is not full. See “Ways to Pay” above.
To add legs with Peek or Viator, refer to the “Add-Ons” step while booking.
Meeting up and going home
Tours begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early so we can sign everyone in and start the tour on time. Refer to the individual leg notes above for details on time and place.
At the start of each tour, we will have a check-in, distribute goodies, and take the opportunity to get to know one another.
When each leg is complete, we will take a group photo, and SK will recommend some good places to eat. Each ending location is close to public transportation, and SK will be glad to help you with directions.
Ticketing
Walk-ups will not need a ticket.
Those who reserved online will be issued an eTicket at check-out. Please bring a copy of the ticket or present your reservation on an electronic device at check-in.
Children under the age of 5 are admitted free of charge.
Tour Size/Minimum Participants
While the minimum number of tickets purchased is 1, the minimum number of actual participants for a tour is 4. Tours of 2 or more may proceed if the total number of adult tickets purchased is 4.
All youth tickets must be purchased in conjunction with a minimum of one corresponding adult ticket. Each child under the age of five must be accompanied by at least one adult with a ticket.
The maximum number of guests on any given leg of the tour should not exceed 20. For groups of 20 or more, please refer to the instructions on the Personalized Tours page.
Gratuities
The gratuity to your tour guide is not included. Consider him/her as you would others in the industry, or as servers in restaurants, cab drivers, etc. You tip them at your discretion, and a good time to do so is after the tour, when you are saying farewell. Any tours with meals included do not cover tips for the wait staff.
Cancellations
The tour operates rain or shine. In the event of circumstances (such as storms that pose a danger to guests or other emergencies) beyond our control, necessitating the cancellation of the tour, you will be contacted by phone or email to reschedule.
Customers may cancel up to 24 hours before the tour's start time and be rescheduled; however, tickets are non-refundable in the event of a customer cancellation. Ticket costs will be forfeited by customers who cancel less than 24 hours prior to the tour's start time.
